Saying goodbye to summer is always so bittersweet. I cherish the lazy summer days with my children so much, but I can’t help but catch the back-to-school excitement bug around this time each year! We truly had a great summer and made many memories this year. We didn’t really do anything majorly exciting or take any big trips far away, but each day was an adventure exploring new things in our local area like beaches, nature preserves, and museums, and enjoying old favorites like ice cream shops, our local library and swimming in our backyard pool. As excited as I am about soccer season, dances classes, meeting new teachers and students, and all the fun that Fall brings, I know it’s going to bring a lot of rushing and busyness along with it. To me, this image represents our calm, carefree moments that I hope to hang onto when things get to feeling crazy. The Lake Michigan shore is truly my little slice of peace, and our many beach visits this year are some of the memories that I will hold most dear in my heart.
